1997 V6 Toyota Camry Check Engine Light?

code comes back "shift solenoid E" Trans shop says its just a generic error code,they replaced the bad solenoid and the light still comes on. They've gone through it top to bottom and cannot figure out why the code reappears. Any ideas?
